Curbside Pickup ( Village of Killaloe only )
 
Garbage:
   should be placed at the curbside no later than eight a.m. Wednesday mornings.
All occupants shall place garbage in approved bags or a plastic or aluminium garbage can of equal size to an approved bag.
 
Each garbage bag must have an affixed sticker approved by the township. The fee is $1.00 per bag.
 
There should be no hazardous waste, grass clippings, leaves, brush, garden waste, scrap lumber or other building materials, stumps or logs, metal, stone, brick, concrete, ashes, appliances, water heaters, furniture or other large items.
 
Garbage bags or cans should be placed at the end of the occupant's driveway so that they do not impede pedestrians or traffic.
Recycling:
   Items for recycling should be placed at the curbside for pickup at eight a.m.
   every second Wednesday morning.
These items should be in approved recycling containers.
 
Blue Boxes are available from the Municipal Office at 1 John Street in Killaloe to residents of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards, at a cost of $6.00 per box.

Killaloe Site - 1049 Mask Road
(Part Lot 7 Concession 8, Hagarty Township)

Killaloe Site Accepts:
Household Waste Recyclables (Including Cardboard),
Pine Needles, Grass Clippings, Leaves, Scrap Metal,
Brush (No Stumps or Logs), Demolition Material, Furniture,
Painted Wood, Tires, Fire Clean-Up Debris

Open:
  • Wednesday 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • Saturday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Friday 12:00 Noon to 4:00 PM

Red Rock Site - Beechnut Lake Road
(Part Lot 11 Concession 7, Richards Township)

Red Rock Site Accepts:
Household Waste Recyclables (Excluding Cardboard)

Open:
  • Thursday 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM
  • Sunday 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM

Round Lake Site - 168 Sunrise Road
(Part Lot 27 Concession 3, Richards Township)

Round Lake Site Accepts:
Household Waste Recyclabes (Excluding Cardboard)

Open:
  • Thursday 8:30 AM to 12:00 Noon
  • Sunday 8:30 AM to 12:00 Noon

Special Exceptions:
 
May to October Holiday Long Week-Ends:
Both Round Lake and Red Rock Sites will be CLOSED on Sundays.
 
Holiday Mondays (May - October):
Red Rock Site Only is Open From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM
 
Sites are closed:
Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.


Waste Disposal Tipping Fees
 
ALL GARBAGE MUST BE PROPERLY BAGGED AND SECURED
IN 26"X36" GARBAGE BAGS, WITH THE APPROPRIATE STICKER ATTACHED.
PAPER BAGS, GROCERY BAGS, ETC., WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
UNLESS PLACED INSIDE A REGULAR (26"X36") GARBAGE BAG.

Tipping fees shall be paid to the waste site attendant
upon entry to the site and before disposing of
chargeable items.

 
Tags for Bagged Household Waste:
 $1.00 per bag
 
Commercial Users:
 Commercial users can choose the $1.00 per bag fee or a $7.00 per cubic meter fee.
 
Commercial Dumpster:
 $7.00 per cubic meter
 
Demolition Material:
$60.00 per load - Utility Trailer (5x8) or ½ ton truck
$240.00 per load - Single Axle Truck
$360.00 per load - Tandem Truck
(Fee doubles for trailers and vehicles with racks)

Brush:  (Up to a Maximum 6" Top - No Tree Stumps or Logs)
$30.00 per load - Utility Trailer (5'x8') or ½ ton truck
$50.00 per load - Single Axle Truck
$125.00 per load - Tandem Truck

Contaminated Soil:
$260.00 per load - Utility Trailer (5'x8') or ½ ton truck
$440.00 per load - Single Axle Truck
$560.00 per load - Tandem Truck
$3200.00 per load - Triaxle Truck


Tires:
$5.00 per Passenger & light truck (No Rim)
$20.00 per Passenger & light truck (With Rim)
$10.00 per Truck (No Rim)

$20.00 per Oversized Tractor, Skidder, Grader (No Rim)
$80.00 per Oversized Tractor, Skidder, Grader (With Rim)

Large Furniture:
 $5.00 per piece

At the discretion of the Waste Site Attendant, some furniture pieces may be placed in the "Second Chance" Building at the Killaloe Waste Disposal Site.

There is no charge for leaving these items, but they must be in acceptable condition.

Due to safety concerns, no car seats or baby/child furniture
will be accepted at the "Second Chance" building.

 
Refrigerators and Other Appliances Containing Freon or Other Refrigerants:
 These will be accepted at the Killaloe Waste Site only.
 The unit's door must be removed.
  $25.00 per Fridge
  $12.50 per Air Conditioning Unit
 
Certain items are accepted without charge:
 scrap metal, pine needles, leaves, recyclables (glass, paper, tin cans,etc), appliances.

Recycling
 

All refuse that can be recycled is required to be recycled.
 
Curbside pickup is only available within the Village of Killaloe.
 
Commercial users cannot place cardboard in their blue boxes
for pick-up within the village of killaloe.

Hazardous Waste
  Hazardous Waste is not allowed to be left or deposited at any of our municipal waste disposal sites and cannot be put out for curbside collection!
 
Some examples of hazardous waste:
motor oil herbicides
insecticides paint
acids (muriatic, etc.) caustics (lye)
glues gasoline
drain and oven cleaners pool chemicals
bleach aerosol cans
solvents (nail polish remover, varsol) pesticides
pharmaceuticals batteries
antifreeze ammonia
cleaning fluids  

Metal gas containers, propane tanks and all other fuel tanks/containers
are considered hazardous and will not be accepted at any waste disposal sites
operated by the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards.
