The Friends of the Killaloe and District Library is a non profit, charitable organization (registration#85354 2330 RR0001) and designated as a Public Foundation dedicated to promoting the cause of the Library. Formed in 1999, the Friends are a small group that assists the library in maintaining its high profile as a provider of educational, research and enjoyment material through fund raising efforts and advocacy.

A Friend group can raise funds for special equipment and facilitate new programs. They are a “grass root” association that works and co-operates with library boards and also with library administration.

The Friends help to fund programs which might not be formally covered in the libraries operation budget.

Members of the Friends organization are volunteers that:
  • Promote knowledge of and interest in the functions, services and needs of the library
