Municipal and School Board Election Information 2018

Nomination Information

Nomination Form - Form 1 - **Please Note** In 2017 the Province of Ontario passed legislation to amend the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. One of the changes was that, for the 2018 municipal election a candidate would require 25 signatures to endorse their Nomination Form. In April 2018, the Province of Ontario amended this legislation to exclude municipalities with under 4000 electors, therefore, candidates for municipal council in Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards do not require this endorsement.

Nomination Forms can be filed at the township office from May 1, 2018 to July 26, 2018 during regular office hours (8:30 AM to 4:30 PM), and on Nomination Day (July 27, 2018) from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Explore our landscape of rich forests, pristine lakes and winding rivers and streams and you’ll find the perfect countryside for bird watching, snowshoe or snowmobile once the snow and frozen lakes appear.

Our natural landscape supports a wide range of four season family oriented outdoor activities and when it’s time to stop for a rest, shop or pick up supplies, visit one of the charming villages scattered throughout the township for some local country hospitality. We are also home to a thriving community of artists, musicians and performers who display their talents at local galleries and venues.

For information on some of the events and festivals you can enjoy here, see our Special Events.

Incorporated on July 1st 2000 as a result of the amalgamation of the former Township of Hagarty and Richards and the former Village of Killaloe, this area was first settled in the middle of the 19th century by Irish immigrants. As time went on, German, Kashub, Polish and Wendish settlers arrived by way of the Opeongo colonization road.

With grand scenery, plenty of destinations, clear lakes, rivers and streams plus festivals and celebrations galore, the Township of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards is truly Naturally Spirited!
